1871年、ベルギーの小さな町でデュベル・モルトガット醸造所は創立されました。それから150年の月日が流れ、デュベル・モルトガット醸造所は、代表作のデュベルを柱とした、ベルギーで最も有名な醸造所の一つになりました。デュベルはオランダ語で悪魔を意味します。それは、その口当たりとは裏腹に8.5%もの高いアルコール度数の後ろに悪魔が潜んでいるからと言われています。
創立から150年の節目の2021年、デュベル・モルトガット醸造所は新商品を発表しました。悪魔のビール、デュベルよりアルコール度数は低く、6.66%です。アルコール度数6.66、西洋で悪魔と恐れられる数字です。またしても悪魔が潜んでいました。デュベルは正に悪魔の洗礼を受けたビールなのです。
デュベル・666は、フルボディのストロングエールながらパンチと柔らかくなめらかな口当たりを兼ね備えた、さわやかさを感じることのできるビールです。名前は悪魔ですが、自然にかすんだ黄金色は天国のような美しさです。様々なホップの組み合わせや、ドライホッピングを用いることで、生き生きとしたフルーティーな香りを生み出しています。ナチュラルなテイストはオレンジピールのようにさわやかですが、瓶内二次発酵を行うことで、酵母やボディをはっきりと感じ、お楽しみいただけることでしょう。
デュベル・666は、悪魔とは裏腹に、天国のようにフレッシュでフルーティー、飲みやすく素晴らしいベルジャンブロンド・エールです。
Brewery Duvel Moortgat was founded in 1871 in a rather small town in Belgium. 150 years later, it is one of Belgium’s most prominent brewers with the iconic DUVEL brand as its flagship. To celebrate the 150 years milestone, in 2021 the brewery decided to create a little brother for Duvel (Devil is Dutch dialect), called so because it has a punch to it which is said to come from the devil hiding in its high 8.5% alcohol content.
The newly created beer has a lower alcohol percentage than its big brother, but it is no coincidence that it tops off at 6.66% (666 being the number of the devil): the devil hides in here as well! And if anyone should doubt it, the beer has been baptized DUVEL 666.
Duvel 666 is a powerful ale, both full-bodied and refreshing at the same time. Despite the evil moniker, the natural hazy and yellow appearance is heavenly beautiful. Duvel 666 has the typical Duvel punch but combines it with a soft and smooth mouthfeel. Its aroma is the result of a variety of 6 hops, some of which are also used for dry- hopping. They give the beer a lively and fruity fragrance. The taste is both earthy and refreshingly fruity with clear hints of orange zest. Refermentation in the bottle results in a clearly recognizable use of Belgian yeast and a full body.
Duvel 666 is an excellent, easy to drink Belgian blond ale with the characteristic Duvel punch. Heavenly fresh and fruity, devilishly strong and vigorous!

1871 年、ステーンフッフェル村 (Steenhuffel) の醸造家一族 の息子であったヤン - レオナルド・モルトガット (Jan-Leonard Moortgat) が、妻のマリア・デ・ブロック (Maria De Block) と共 に デ ュ ベ ル ・ モ ル ト ガ ッ ト 醸 造 所 を 設 立 し ま し た 。 当 初「 デ ュ ベ ル 」 は 1918 年に終結した第一次世界大戦を記念して「ヴィクトリー・ エール」と命名されました。その後、試飲会でヴァン・デ・ワウワー (Van De Wouwer) という近所の靴屋の店主に「このビールはまさ に悪魔だ」と称賛されたことが、その歴史を変えました。1923 年以降、このビールは悪魔を意味する、(Duvel) というブランド 名で販売されることになりました。近年、デュベル・モルトガッ ト醸造所は近隣諸国 ( オランダ、フランス、イギリス ) での体 制を強化し、輸出事業を世界規模で飛躍的に進展させています。
スペシャル・ビール • Special Ale
本来ベルギービールは、ビールの数だけその分類が存在すると言われていますが、スペシャルビールとは他のどの分類にも属さない 特別な製法や材料を用いて醸造されたビールや、歴史的な背景を色濃く残すもののことを言います。また個性的で産地と密接な 関わりを持ち、その土地独自の「地ビール」のことを指しています。
